Patrick - Florida
Patrick created “Driving For Donors,” that aims to increase the number of people on the national marrow donor list. He travels around the country (and to several other countries) holding marrow drives to help find life-saving marrow matches for people in need. Patrick fundraised by selling ads on his bald head and also speaks to groups and businesses to encourage other young people to become socially active. He personally has raised more than $160,000 and has helped add more than 15,000 new donors to the National Marrow Registry.

Kendall - Illinois
Kendall started “Kids Caring 4 Kids,” that inspires kids to care about others in need and channels the funds raised through the organization to projects that help improve the lives of highly vulnerable African children. She has raised more than $740,000 for her cause, inspired more than 6,000 kids to get involved in making a difference in the world and helped improve the lives of more than 5,000 kids in five different countries in Africa.

Brittany - Massachusetts
Co-founder with her brother of “Cell Phones for Soldiers,” which collects used cell phones and with the funds raised from recycling of the phones, buys prepaid calling cards to send to military troops. By setting up drop-off sites throughout the country, now numbering more than 10,000 locations, Cell Phones for Soldiers has been able to collect more than two million phones in 2008 alone.

Max - Massachusetts
Max founded “PuzzlesToRemember,” an organization that collects and distributes puzzles to help Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. He works with puzzle manufacturers and also sets up collection bins throughout eastern Massachusetts to obtain product which he then donates to places that care for Alzheimer and dementia patients, including the Massachusetts Alzheimer’s Organization. Since Max started his project, he has collected nearly 1,000 puzzles and the number continues to grow.

Jenny - New Jersey
Jenny founded and runs an organization that raises money to provide teddy bears to children in need during the holidays. She runs an annual bowling event, “Bowling for Bears,” for which she solicits sponsors to donate everything from the bowling alley for the event to the food served and silent auction items. Jenny has raised more than $25,000, not including contributions of food, silent auction items, t-shirts for participants and the bowling alley and has been able to purchase and donate more than 3,200 teddy bears.

Bilaal - Ontario
Bilaal founded “Hands for Help” to heighten awareness of youth issues and raise funds for children in need. Through Hands for Help, Bilaal has raised funds for HIV/AIDS orphans, people affected by hurricanes and tsunamis and for the World Partnership Walk.

Christine - Ontario
Christine started “Chunity,” which comes from the words children + unity, to raise funds for her local children’s hospital, local women’s shelters and to help the homeless. Through Chunity (www.chunity.org), Christine has been able to raise more than $70,000 for people in need.

Mimi - Oregon
Mimi started two websites, www.freekibble.com and www.freekibblekat.com, to help feed homeless dogs and cats in animal shelters across the country. Her website donates ten pieces of kibble every time someone visits one of the sites and answers the dog (Bow-Wow trivia) or cat (Meow trivia) related questions that she creates. Currently, Freekibble has donated more than 110,000 pounds of food, which has provided more than 775,000 healthy meals. This equates to approximately 3,500 nutritious meals served every day to homeless dogs and cats at 11 shelters.

Katie - South Carolina
Katie started “Launch Katie’s Dream” to help see to it that no child goes hungry. She plants vegetable gardens and donates the harvests to soup kitchens and organizations that help feed those in need. Katie also sells t-shirts with the phrase, “No Hungry Children…. All it takes is a seedling,” from which ten percent of the sales go to help her cause.

Kaylee Marie - Tennessee
Kaylee Marie started “Tunes 4 the Troops” which sends donated used and new CDs and DVDs to military troops serving in combat zones to bring a little stress relief. In addition to the local efforts she spearheads, Kaylee Marie spends approximately 30 hours per week coordinating with her 600 satellite locations all across the country. To date, she has been able to raise $30,000 in cash and in-kind donations for her project and has been able to send more than 447,000 items worth $7 million dollars to the troops.

Cody - Texas
Cody raises awareness on the abilities of individuals with disabilities. He conducts presentations at schools and community events and mentoring with adults, children and injured military personnel to make people aware of how to overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams. Cody also fundraises for two non-profits and has been able to raise more than $100,000 so far.
