Build-A-Bear Workshop

Our pets mean so much to us. They bring our families comfort, love and happiness. The Build-A-Bear Foundation is proud to be partnered with Petfinder in continuing with a cause that's import to us- helping pets find happy homes. Petfinder.com is the largest searchable database for adoptable pets in North America. There you can find the most amazing pets and share their adorable photos.

We invite you to learn all about pets and how Petfinder is dedicated to bringing shelter pets and families together. You'll find some inspiring Happy Tails adoption stories, pet tips, and interesting fun facts that will make you smile.

How can you help?

There are lots of ways to help without actually adopting a pet!

  • Volunteer at a local shelter or rescue organization; they would be happy to have your help. Visit petfinder.com to find one near you.
  • Donate supplies to a local shelter or rescue organization. They need things like old leashes, toys, brushes and old linens so check your closets and share what you may not be using.
  • Help spread the word! Discover and share adoptable pets that need happy homes through social networks.
  • Follow Petfinder's "Happy Homes" Pinterest board to explore more ways to help pets find homes (and spoil the pets you already love).

Helping Through Donations

Now through May 31, you can make a donation in store or online at buildabear.com to the Build-A-Bear Workshop Foundation. All monies collected will go to help support local educational outreach programs that teach children about caring for pets. This national grant program is administered by the Petfinder Foundation.

Pet Education Fun

We are proud to report, that with the help of our guests, in 2015 we were able to donate $200,000 to the Petfinder Foundation to support summer camp and school programs. By educating children now about pet care and responsible pet ownership, we hope to be able to reduce the number of neglected animals in the future, and “Bring Happiness Home” with pet adoption.

Check out just a few of the fun photos captured during these pet education programs last year.

  • Campers stuffing KONG toys with peanut butter to provide enrichment for shelter dogs. Children learn about toys such as these are fun for the dogs and provide nutritious snacks.

  • Several campers playing with kittens to help socialize them so they are ready for new homes.

  • Kids celebrating during last day of camp. Check out the smilaes!
