On February 11, our Workshop in Portland, Maine, welcomed a very special Guest celebrating an amazing milestone: Cassidy Wilson was making her 1,000th furry friend!
Cassidy has been making furry friends at the Maine Mall Workshop since 2003. For 18 years, Cassidy and her family have celebrated personal achievements and life milestones with fun trips to Build-A-Bear. Cassidy has cerebral palsy, but that doesn’t slow her down a bit.
Cassidy’s mom, Holly, and the Build-A-Bear team joined forces to make sure Cassidy had an unforgettable experience making her 1,000th furry friend. Cassidy hadn’t been able to come to the mall during the pandemic, so her visit was planned before the mall opened so she could have the entire Workshop to herself!
Bearemy himself greeted Cassidy and her family at the mall to escort them to the Workshop. Cassidy’s family sported “1,000 Bear Crew” face masks, and Cassidy wore her special shirt reading “Keep Calm, I Made It 1,000 Build-A-Bear”! The Workshop was decorated with balloons and a giant card signed by both current and past associates.
Knowing Cassidy loves the color purple, the Build-A-Bear team embroidered a Purple Unicorn with her name and the number 1,000 on the paw pad. Cassidy was over-the-moon excited when she saw her unicorn! Her entire family gathered around the Stuffer as she stuffed her unicorn during a group Heart Ceremony with lots of hugs and wishes for this special occasion. Once it was stuffed, Cassidy would not let go of her unicorn!
Cassidy even made gifts for the entire Build-A-Bear team to thank them for all the smiles over the last 18 years. While the Build-A-Bear team had set out to make Cassidy’s day, she in turn made the day just as special and meaningful for the store team.
Cassidy has been a joy for our Maine Mall team for many years, and we hope her Club Community story gives all our members something to celebrate. Thank you, Cassidy, for adding so much heart to life!
