How to Apply for the
Hearts 'n' Hugs Fund
Donations are granted to organizations that most closely align with our mission on a first-come, first-served basis. Submissions will be reviewed based on best fit for our mission. Build-A-Bear Foundation only provides bear donations that directly serve children in need, prioritizing programs that promote children's literacy, health, wellness, safety, and equity.

Build-A-Bear Foundation partners with the American Red Cross through their Disaster Responder Program, helping communities prepare and respond to natural disasters. Since 2021, we’ve donated over $1.25 million in support, including more than 40,000 bears to comfort children and families served by the American Red Cross and their incredible volunteers.
For National Teddy Bear Day 2023, Build-A-Bear Guests helped us donate 50,000 furry friends thanks to our “Buy a Bear, Give a Bear” campaign. These bears supported kids and classrooms in need across the United States. Build-A-Bear associates even visited local sites to deliver bears themselves.
